The London Finance Cup is competitive from the very start. Selection is objective, fair, and ruthless - exactly like real finance.

Open Registration

Any student or young professional under 30 can register as a team of 2 (either 2 students or 2 professionals, no mixed teams). The more teams that register, the more competitive the selection becomes. Teams pay the entry fee (£15 for students, £25 for professionals) to enter.

Quiz

Finance Quiz - Negative Marking

All registered teams sit a timed finance quiz. Questions cover markets, economics, financial instruments, and current events. Negative marking applies - wrong answers cost you points.

  • Correct answer: full marks awarded
  • No answer: no marks deducted
  • Wrong answer: marks deducted

4 Top Teams Selected

The 4 highest-scoring teams in the quiz qualify for the Debate Night. Teams are notified immediately after the quiz. The remaining teams are thanked and invited to register for the next event.

Why This Selection Works

Negative marking tests genuine knowledge and confidence - skills that matter in finance. Teams that guess randomly will be eliminated. Only teams with real understanding proceed.
